Dr Nasser H. Saidi heads Nasser Saidi & Associates a niche consultant and advisor to governments, central banks, regulators, multi-national and regional companies. He is the former Chief Economist of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) from 2006 to 2012, where as a senior executive he built & promoted the centre and its strategic development and developed the links with governments, central banks, IFIs, banks & financial institutions and international financial centres. Dr Saidi is the Founder and former Executive Director of the Hawkamah-Institute for Corporate Governance and the Mudara Institute of Directors, 2006-2012. He was senior adviser to the UAE Minister of Finance, 2004-2006.

Dr. Jarmo Kotilaine
Chief Economist
Bahrain Economic Development Board


Jarmo Kotilaine joined the Bahrain Economic Development Board as Chief Economist in September 2012. He previously served as Chief Economist of the National Commercial Bank (NCB) of Saudi Arabia, having initially worked on setting up the research function for NCB Capital, the investment arm of the NCB Group.

Dr Kotilaine worked for a number of years as an economic and financial consultant with a primary focus on emerging markets. He advised the Spanish stock exchange, Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME) and headed the financial services practices of UK-based global consultancy firms. During this time, Dr Kotilaine's main clientele consisted of banks, stock exchanges and financial regulators, some of which he has continued to serve as an external advisor.

Dr Kotilaine studied economics and economic history at Oxford, Cambridge, and Harvard. He subsequently joined the faculty at Harvard where his primary research focus was the long-term economic and institutional development of Eurasia as well as on international trade and finance.


Farzine Fazel

Farzine is also a member of the Global and European Management Teams, and has been a Partner at Capco since joining in 1998.

Osman Cevdet Akçay, Ph.D.

Osman Cevdet Akçay is the Chief Economist at Koç Financial Services and Yapı Kredi. He received his B.A. in economics from Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, and his M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Graduate School and University Center at City University of New York. He served at Boğaziçi University as Assistant Professor and as Associate Professor between 1992 and 2001, and was a full-time faculty member at Koç University from 2001 till September 2009. He started as an economist at Koç Yatırım (Investment Bank) in 1998 and became the Chief Economist for Koçbank and Koç Yatırım in 2000. Following the Koçbank-Yapı Kredi merger in 2006, he has been serving as the Chief Economist at Yapı Kredi as well as the umbrella company Koç Financial Services. His research and publication areas mainly include exchange rate determination, debt dynamics, and disinflation with specific emphasis on the Turkish experience in these fields.


Pinaki Aich

Pinaki is the Vice President of Group Strategy for the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Prior to the DIFC, he worked in the Private Equity/Venture Capital and Financial Technology industry in Silicon Valley. Pinaki co-founded a Private Equity fund, Auxano Capital Partners, investing in the impact space in the US and also advised Fintech firms on their go-to-market strategy. He has 13 years of cumulative experience across investment, strategy and marketing across the US, Middle East and India. Pinaki has a Masters in Business from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, an MBA in marketing and an undergrad in Maths.



Omar Rana

Mr. Rana has over 18+ years of experience in advising companies, governments and private family groups in areas of strategy, restructuring and operations. He is currently the Co-Founder & Director of Finalytix Inc., a US based FinTech company focused on providing wealth management solutions to clients. Finalytix is part of the new age FinTech players disrupting critical aspects of the delivery value chain of Financial Institutions to various types of clients which include UHNWI, Family Offices and Independent Asset Managers. Finalytix is a cloud based stacked solution supporting clients to make better decisions about their portfolios. Omar leads the Strategy & Finance at Finalytix.

Prior to Finalytix, Mr. Rana has spent a number of years at various Corporate Strategy firms which include Oliver Wyman, Booz Allen & Hamilton, San Francisco Consulting Group and Braxton Associates. While at the various Corporate Strategy firms, Omar, has led client engagement strategy teams to advise Fortune 100 companies (Corporate Strategy, Operations), Family Office Groups (restructuring Private Equity portfolios, investment officer) and Governments (privatization efforts in Telecom, Energy, Utilities, Regulatory Policy, Free Zones). Omar has also had diverse geographical experience having led or co-led client engagement teams in various international markets which include Canada/USA, Latin America, Middle East/North Africa and the Far East.
